On October 20, 2012, COERR volunteer have trained refugee children between 10 and 18 years old in Ban Mai Nai Soi Camp, Mae Hong Son Province to create their own clock with variety of pictures, drawings or stories.
This activity has developed the participents`s imagination and creativity and their interest for being able to read the clock and know how a clock works. As they also supported each other such as older children drew something for younger ones, it facilitated team spirit and cooperation.
40 children between 10 and 18 years old (25 girls and 15 boys) have participated in this DIY clockwork class. Material used are colour paper, pencils, crayons, rubbers, ribbons, scissors, tape, clockworks, batteries, canvases and glue. The outcomes have brought them happy and proud when 40 self-created clocks with very nice pictures of flowers, mountains, animals and dreams were finished.
